New Comers

The morning air was colder than the day before, wind cut against Mana's face as she stood outside, paper from Caroline in hand. Svetlana it said. Each member was assigned a new student, Caroline gave herself Ivan, of course. Mana muttered the name to herself over and over, Svetlana, Svetlana, Svetlana. The name felt so familiar, and yet so alien. It's a common Russian name for a girl, but something about it made Mana warm on such a cold day.

As Mana mulled over the name, a stranger approached her. Mana first noticed boots, tactile black boots with red and black striped socks poking out. Mana's head shot up to look at the person before her. The girl from her dream, but now wearing the same uniform as Mana herself. Her heart felt it was going to burst out her chest, she felt her face flush and her breath quicken.

"Привет- I mean, hello." Her voice was warm and low, like a hot chocolate by a fire on a cold day after the power has gone out. "My name is Svetlana."

Hearing the name made Mana feel butterflies in her chest, Mana worried they were gonna fly out her mouth right in front of Svetlana, clenching her jaw in responce.

Tucking a hair behind her ear, Mana smiled wide and tilted her head, placing her left foot behind her right lightly and held out her hand. "I'm Mana." The wind seemed to float the two of them into another world. "I'll be personally helping you for the year."

Svetlana smiled to the side, "It's a pleasure to meet you," she took a bow down before Mana, taking her hand softly and kissing her knuckles. "Mana." She looked up at Mana, her eyes full of secrets, her hands warm like the sand at a desert once the sun sets. Their eyes locked together, Svetlana stood back up, making Mana realize just how much taller she was than her, at least 4 inches.

Clearing her throat, Mana opens the door inside. "After you."

Svetlana takes her hand, and holds it tight. "Together." She whispered. "As equals." Her smile soft and calming, her eyes tired. Mana felt herself sweat, hoping Svetlana couldn't feel it too. They walked in together, hand in hand into the empty school. Their eyes met as the door shut behind them.

I must look like a little gay dork! Mana thought to herself. I can't believe how much she looks like Saviour. Mana tried to hold her breath as they looked at each other, realizing she forgot to brush her teeth.

"Where first?" She asked. "Your word is my command."

Writer here, I don't know why, but for some reason writing this made me feel things. As I wrote their interaction I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. I added Mana feeling butterflies and worrying that they were gonna fly out because that's how I was feeling when writing that.

I don't often write lesbian stories and post them because I know from personal experience just how slow and heart wrenching it is to be in that relationship, and then how quickly it suddenly progresses once you're in it. While with writing gay stories is easier and less stressful to read.

I don't care about a goal, but it seems better to have this on than to have this off.

I write horror, romance-ish, and sometimes gay books, mainly horror thugh. They're in the first person to seem like you're reading it from the character themself.
